New Sermon Series Beginning This Sunday!
This coming Sunday is the first Sunday of Lent, forty days of penitence, fasting, and prayer, in preparation for the celebration of Easter. The season of Lent began in the earliest days of the Church as a time of preparation for those seeking to be baptized at the Easter Vigil. The forty days refer to our Lord’s time of fasting in the wilderness. Lent is roughly six weeks from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. In the same way that those preparing for baptism look at the fundamentals of the faith, our preaching topics will be the fundamental values of our church that are printed along the sidelines of the vision diagram. We’ll explore topics such as knowing God personally, handling anxiety, helping others grow, humbly wielding spiritual authority and the growth that follows grace.
